On arrival at the airport or railway station in Delhi, drive towards the first destination – Nainital – a sparkling gem in the crown of Uttarakhand. Nainital is a bustling hill station that lies in the beautiful Kumaon foothills of the Outer Himalayas. The presence of an emerald lake in the heart of the town makes it a paradise for holidaymakers.
Once you reach here, check-in at the designated hotel and spend the remaining day in activities of your choice. You can either relax in your hotel room or enjoy a boat ride on the glittering Naini Lake (at your own expense). Return to the hotel for a hearty meal and take a good night’s sleep for waking up refreshed next morning.
Wake up in the morning and get prepared for the day’s excursion. Start with a visit to Hanuman Garhi. Later, leave for an enthralling tour of three lakes – Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal and Sattal. All these lakes are situated at short distances from each other and are known for their picturesque environs and gleaming waters. While the lake in Bhimtal is known for its island, the one in Naukuchiatal is a perfect site for angling and birdwatching. The interconnected lakes in Sattal are quite mysterious and earn fame for their serene location and almost undulated surroundings. Retire to the hotel for a sumptuous dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Kausani via charming hill station of Ranikhet, explore the wonderful temples and the famous fruit orchards of Ranikhet. Overnight stay in Kausani.
In the morning, proceed for sightseeing tour, which would take you to the revered Baijnath Temple and Kausani tea plantations.
Situated just a few kilometres away from the hill station, Baijnath is a small hamlet known for its conglomeration of ancient temples. The most significant shrine in this group is the Baijnath Temple – dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati. The next place to explore is Kausani Tea Estate, where the local Girias tea is grown, processed and then exported to various countries. You can take a walk through the green contours of these plantations and know about the entire process of producing tea. After an exhilarating day trip, return to the hotel and have your meals, followed by a good night’s sleep.
Post breakfast, depart for Almora. On arrival check in to the hotel. Later proceed for local sightseeing covering Nanda Devi and Lord Shiva temples, museum and enjoy an evening stroll on the Mall road. Relax overnight at the hotel in Almora.
